Tylor's Hero was in Dubuque!!
Tonight I got a call from Ty's friend, Sam, to tell us that BRETT FAVRE was in Dubuque this afternoon. Brett gets his golf carts/four wheelers through Harris Golf Carts and the owner is good friends with Bubbs (the owner of the Dog House). Bubbs health is not well so he paid him a special visit. It is awesome how Brett keeps giving!! I wish we could have seen him again...Tylor cried when he found out that he didn't to see his friend.
Bubbs donated some items to Tylor's benefit and was very kind to give us a picture of him and Brett at Brett's home. Please pray for him and his family!! Thank you Bubbs for your generosity.
A little side note...What is even crazier that Brett was in town is that we were in Cadott at Country Fest this weekend and saw someone with a Falcon Favre jersey on. I have been trying to find one for a couple of years for Ty so he would have all four jerseys from him but I have not had any luck. This young man was the owners son and after talking to them about Tylor and his story he gave us the jersey!!! How awesome his that?? So now Ty has the complete collection!

2nd Annual Walk for Wishes
Come join the Walkin' 4 Tylor team at Murphy Park on Sunday, October 2nd from 8am to 12pm. Make A Wish of Iowa granted over 176 wishes in 2010 and unfortunately the list of children in need of a wish is growing.
Last year the Walkin' 4 Tylor team raised over $1100 and had over 40 people walk on our team! WOW...we even won an award for the largest walk team. Well we are set out to surpass lasts years numbers so we need your help. Please join our team at Walking for Wishes. There are instructions on how to join our team on the website.
We will be looking for sponsors for our team again this year but instead of T-shirts we are going to be selling spots on Tylor's wheelchair. So if you have any businesses or families that would like to buy a spot please let me know.
Hope to see you there!!!

Walk 4 Wishes
Grab your tennis shoes, comfy pants, the stroller for the kids, the dog and join us on October 2nd at Murphy Park for the 2nd Annual WALK 4 WISHES from 8:30am to 10:30am.
All donations will help grant wishes to kids with life threatening illnesses in Iowa. Make a Wish of Iowa grants an average of 200 wishes a year. So we need your help to keep granting more wishes for children like Tylor.
Tylor was granted his wish in 2008! Make A Wish flew him to New York to meet Brett Favre. This is a memory no one can ever take from our family. So we as a family are challenging you to come walk with us and if you can't walk with us please donate. Every little bit helps...you can either contact Make A Wish or myself to make a donation.
Thank you for your support!!

WALK FOR WISHES....A SUCCESS!!
| Tylor and Cale waiting for the walk to start |
Sunday was the 1st Annual Walk for Wishes, a fundraising event for Make A Wish. Most of you know that Tylor was granted his wish in December 2008 to meet Brett Favre. Make A Wish is a organization we always donate to because they do such great things for kids suffering from deadly diseases and illnesses. Walk for Wishes was a great way for Tylor's families to show their support for future wishes and get some exercise in the process.
It was cold waiting for the walk to start but once we got going it was beautiful out. Sy started pushing Ty first and I think they thought it was a race, it took me a little bit to catch up with them. It was so neat to see all the green shirts walking going down the street. The Walkin' 4 Tylor team had over 50 people walking!! We got quite a few honks throughout the morning.

When we finished the walk we were greeted by Make A Wish volunteers...Ty gave them a big high five. When most of the walkers got back it was time for the awards and to find out how much we raised. The volunteers talked about how Make A Wish impacts families suffering with illnesses and diseases. They explained that the average wish costs $9000. Make A Wish of Iowa granted over 266 wishes in 2009. Then for the total raised that day....drum roll please between sponsors and walkers the final total was over $32,000!!! HOW AMAZING.
I know you are probably wondering if the Walkin' 4 Tylor team won anything. Yes we did! We won the award for the Largest Walk Team. We didn't win for the most donations raised but we did pretty good, with online donations and donations turned in that day we were close to $1800!!
We want to THANK our sponsors WHITE CONSTRUCTION, WAGNER'S NURSERY, NATIONAL NIEMANN-PICK FOUNDATION, PEGASUS PROPERTIES, BAUER CONSTRUCTION, KNICKER'S SALOON, ELITE OUTDOORS UNLIMITED, TRI-STATE SCREEN PRINTING, TRI-STATE TRAVEL, CAPRI COLLEGE, AND OPALUS SALON.

Walk For Wishes
Most of you know that Tylor was granted a wish through Make A Wish in 2008. They flew us out to New York to meet Brett Favre. This trip meant the world to Tylor and he still talks about it, when he sees Brett on TV he yells out I met him. The memories made on that trip will forever be with us and we want to help our families make memories like ours.

On October 3rd Make A Wish is holding a fundraiser called Walk For Wishes. The event will start at Murphy Park, registration time is 8 to 9:30 and the walk is from 9:30 to noon. After reading about the walk I thought what a great way to help raise money to grant more wishes. We have formed a team called Walkin' 4 Tylor and we would love for you to join us!! Please see the Make A Wish website to join our team or make a donation.
